Alpharetta Georgia milestone photographer- Makenna’s One Year Cake Smash

I met sweet baby Makenna and her mama Emily a couple months ago when we did a sitting 8 month milestone session. When Emily booked that session, she also booked Makenna’s one year cake smash session! The whole family came this time so we were able to get some really sweet family pictures in addition to all of the fun action shots. I was so excited to see her sweet face and all her rolls again!

We decided to keep it neutral and boho in some dusty pink colors for the special day. I got a balloon arch and of course a wonderful custom cake from my favorite vendor Jamie Bakes!

First we let Makenna warm up in a cute flowered romper while playing in a basket. We then changed her into a pink tutu dress for some pictures with mom and dad. I used a combination of my backdrop space and my lifestyle space. I just love being able to offer so many different options to my clients. After the pink dress we had an outfit change into a neutral romper dress for some more adorable family pictures.

Once we had Makenna comfortable in the space and all the family pictures taken, it was time for the big show. We moved to the backdrop area and had one final outfit change into a lacy romper and flower crown. Makenna showed off her standing and crawling skills before we pulled out the cake. As most babies are she was hesitant at first. She has the most adorable facial expressions. Then she decided it was delicious and really went to town. Finally, she got bored and decided she wanted to do some more crawling.

Emily ordered a keepsake box and one of my new favorite items, a 16x16 inch 4 photo collage frame. I know these pictures will be heirlooms for their family just like their previous ones are.
