Look at this incredibly gorgeous family. A few months ago, husband and dad, JC reached out to me in secret to book a session as a birthday surprise for his wife, Sammi. Together, they have three children and hadn’t ever gotten professional family photos of all five of them! Later, Sammie told me that she had been following my work for a long time and has been dreaming of having me do their family photos, so JC did such a good job with the perfect gift! I don’t often get to do family sessions between all my mamas and babies, but I absolutely love how fun they are to plan and execute.
Sammie was able to meet up with me prior to the session and together we styled some of the items from my client closet. Both of her dresses, her flower crown, and some of the kids’ accessories all came from the client closet.
We decided to shoot at Wimpy Farms and we could not have asked for a better day. We started in a cow filled meadow and we were able to get some great shots of the whole family and then of the kids playing. Chandler and Kylie really loved helping Koda toss rocks into the creek, and Dad even said how much fun the session was and wasn’t like your normal, “smile and say cheese” photos.
Just look at the love JC and Sammie have for each other. I love how the sun’s rays shone on the beautiful couple as they stood on the bridge. It was just wonderful how we were able to get so many connections between the two of them.
It was such an easy session because the love and playfulness just flowed. I made sure to get some special shots of JC and Sammie with Chandler, Kylie, and Koda. Koda really loves riding on his dad’s shoulders too. I know this family will love and cherish each other and these photos for a long time to come. Or until our next session of course!
Poor Koda even fell in the pond with dad running right in after him! We were able to capture such precious moments through chaos and all had so much fun.
The family opted to build their own custom collection of digital images, a canvas gallery wall, and an heirloom album to showcase these memories all over their house!
