Gainesville Georgia Milestone Photographer-Mia’s Cake Smash Studio Session

I have been photographing sweet Mia since before she was born. I had the privilege of doing her mom’s maternity shoot and her newborn shoot. And now I got to take pictures ahead of her first birthday at her cake smash session!

We started our relationship while taking her mom Yuri’s maternity photos at the always beautiful Amicalola Falls. For this milestone session they came to my studio and we got such a great variety of photos of sweet Mia.

We started the session with an adorable “ONE” sign while Mia was wearing a flower romper and flower crown. She got to play with a cute vintage wooden stroller too. We changed her into a neutral tulle dress complete with “ONE” crown and moved to the backdrops.

I pulled out a few toys for Mia to play with to get comfortable and like a true toddler she was not having it at first. You have to stay on baby’s timeline and not your own when in the middle of a newborn or milestone session because they run the show! We took a short break for her to eat and then we took some photos of the family. You can see the love these three have for each other in every shot. We changed the sweet model again into a lace dress and took a few more playful pictures and family pictures.

Then of course it was time for one last outfit change into her special “ONE” dress and let her go to town on the cake! She was hesitant at first but eventually loved it and even let mom and dad in on the action. I just love seeing my sweet families and babies throughout their first year together.
