I live in Dahlonega, Georgia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Within a short drive there are a few locations that are my favorite go-to’s for an outdoor maternity photography session.

Montaluce Winery- Montaluce Winery is a beautiful winery and restaurant that I love to shoot at. The second you pull into the property you feel like you have been transported to a Tuscan villa instead of still being in Georgia. Whether you want to shoot with the backdrop of the mountains, the beautiful buildings, or the grapevines, there is truly something for everyone to capture here.
Lake Zwerner Dam- The Yahoola Creek reservoir located in downtown Dahlonega Georgia is another beautiful location. Here you will find a picturesque backdrop with a stunning lake, beautiful greenery, and mountain views. It is truly a convenient yet beautiful spot.
The Edge of the World- The Edge of the World trail in Dawsonville Georgia is an incredible short hike to the Amicalola River that has some of the most beautiful river views. It offers a wooden walkway surrounded by beautiful greenery and huge outcroppings of rocks that offer many opportunities for beautiful pictures.
Wimpy Farm- Wimpy Farm is a beautiful farm in Dahlonega Georgia that is used for events and weddings typically. The property is gorgeous though, and I love shooting around the animals, creek, and other farm structures.
Vogel State Park- Vogel State Park is the farthest away from Dahlonega of any spots on this list. It is located about 45 minutes north of Dahlonega in Blairsville Georgia. However, you know it is worth the drive once you see the beautiful lake surrounded by mountain views. There is also a hidden waterfall down a short trail for another picturesque spot. It is truly one of my favorite spots in the fall, as the fall foliage is simply stunning!
Amicalola Falls State Park- This beautiful park is located in between Dahlonega and Dawsonville Georgia. It is touted as one of the seven wonders of Georgia and there is no doubt that it lives up to its reputation! Amicalola is home to a beautiful waterfall that has three levels from which you can take pictures with a beautiful backdrop. Truly this location has something for everyone!

Finally, since I live in the area, I would be remiss to mention my favorite spots. I have a varity of private locations that aren’t public parks that I go back to over and over because of the beautiful scenery. Two of my favorites are a spot on the Etowah River and a spot that gives beautiful and unhindered views of the mountains.
