Virginia Highlands Maternity Photographer- Kirsty and Tommy’s Outdoor Session
Kirsty and her husband Tommy met while working at the police department together. It was meant to be and they are now married and expecting their first baby, a little boy. Tommy works for the power company and Kirsty is out on leave awaiting the arrival of their baby. They live a couple hours away, but they really wanted to do something in North Georgia or at a winery. They found me on Google and immediately reached out to book a session.
There are so many wonderful places around North Georgia for outdoor sessions, but we had to change our location several times either due to business closures or closures due to hunting. But, we finally were able to decide on The Edge of the World in Dawsonville Georgia. This is one of my favorite backdrops for sessions and it provides absolutely gorgeous views of the river and rocky areas around the river.
Kirsty and Tommy wanted to keep the session very low key and simple. Kirsty wore a beautiful fitted black gown from my client closet and Tommy wore jeans and his custom hat because they are naming their baby Stetson.
We started out on the trail in the woods on the way to the river. Kirsty’s red hair “pops” and we captured some beautiful images of just Kirsty and the couple together. Next we moved to the river and got some fun poses of the couple around the rocky outcroppings. The river adds such a dramatic touch as a backdrop. Finally the couple played at the edge of the cold water and Kirsty got to kick around in her black cowboy boots.
The couple loved all their pictures and they purchased two 16x20 acrylics to use as wall art. All of the pictures we took will be wonderful heirlooms to document Kirsty’s pregnancy with Stetson.
